Law Enforcement/Education

Structural racism plays out in different ways in societal systems and institutions like education and law enforcement. These systems are entangled both in challenging ways (e.g.,the school-to-prison pipeline, increasing police presence in schools), and in some potentially positive ways (e.g., increasing numbers of prison education programs) both nationally and locally. We acknowledge the ways in which these systems intersect, however, we explore them separately on individual pages.
